"This really is an immense physical and mental challenge, and for a great cause too."

In Ribble Valley, The Great British Food Festival returns to Stonyhurst College from today until Sunday.

An exhibition of poetry and stories by John Shepherd begins at Darwen Library tomorrow (sat).

Also in Burnley on Saturday, North Valley Community Centre's annual flower will take place 1.30 to 4pm And on Sunday, The Unusual Plant Fair comes to Hoghton Tower, from 11am to 4pm.

The plant fair will be a wonderful opportunity to pick up some interesting and different for your spring planting.

There'll still be plenty of warm sunshine around today.

However, cloud will gradually move in giving a risk of rain in the evening. The good news is this should make for a sunny tomorrow - though the rain looks set to return on Sunday.
