BLACKBURN Drama Club has notched up record ticket sales for its recent production of Fur Coat and No Knickers.
The production, which appeared at Thwaites Empire Theatre from March 7 to 10, attracted more than 1,000 people - the highest number recorded in the club's 63 years of existence.
The theatre this week informed the club that four out of four sell-out nights had resulted in the bumper audience figures.
The saucily-titled play, written by Mike Harding, and directed by Paul Mason, centres around the wedding of Deirdre Ollernshawe and Mark Greenhalgh.
Eric Nolan, club secretary, said: "Whilst figures almost reaching this were sometimes recorded at Blackburn College over 20 years ago, the club thinks this grand figure is a record for one of Blackburn Drama Club's plays in the 63 years of it existence.
"Evidently theatre is alive and kicking in this part of East Lancashire."
