CLARETS fans who made an impromptu visit to the club shop in the sunshine yesterday afternoon were treated to a chat with two of their footballing heroes.

Burnley striker Sam Vokes and defender Kieran Trippier visited the retail outlet in Charter Walk to speak with delighted fans.

A large crowd gathered in the town as the pair met supporters young and old, signed autographs and had photographs taken after finishing training for the day.

Sue Ashworth, 21, took to Twitter to tell of her excitement ahead of the meet and greet.

She said: "I can't wait to take my little cousin to meet @trippier2 and Sam Vokes later. He's going to be so happy and so am I."

And 16-year-old Jessica Ingham said: "I should really be revising instead of taking my sister and her mate into town to meet Vokes and Trippier."

Former Man City youngster Trippier, 24, also sat down to give media interviews ahead of Burnley's weekend game with second-placed Arsenal.

The Clarets are two points from safety going into the crunch clash, with just seven games of the season remaining.

However, the match is arguably their toughest remaining fixture, with games against fellow relegation battlers Leicester City, Hull City, and Aston Village also still to play.
