A MAN has been arrested in connection with a spate of assaults on women last week.
Four women were assaulted in separate incidents while walking around Burnley centre in the early morning.
Police said they believe the attacks are connected because of the time and place.
All the attacks occurred between 9am and 9.30am.
In the first of the attacks on February 19 a man allegedly followed a lady from Sainsburys, in Colne Road, and inappropriately touched her.
The second attack is said to have taken place along Railway Street on February 21.
The last two attacks occurred along Active Way and involved touching and comments.
A police spokesperson said: "Because of the time and place we believe they are linked and the description suggests it is the same man.
"These are not serious sexual assaults but they are not the kind of behaviour we want to see in the town centre."
