A 20-year-old Clitheroe woman who repeatedly breached anti-social behaviour orders (ASBOs) is facing another prison sentence.

Blackburn magistrates ruled their powers of punishment were insufficient to deal with Rachael Linford who they said had shown a complete disregard for court orders.

Linford, of Siddows Avenue, Clitheroe, pleaded guilty to two breaches of an ASBO and she was committed in custody to Preston Crown Court for sentence.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said the first breach was in December when police had found her in Siddows Avenue under the influence of alcohol, which was in breach of the order.

On February 24 she was seen in Blackburn town centre, again under the influence of alcohol.

She was approached by a police officer who thought he recognised her and initially gave false details.

Miss Allan said Linford had received previous prison sentences for breaching ASBOS.

The current order was the second that had been made against her and at the beginning of February she had been made subject to a community supervision order for breaching the order.

Daniel King, defending, said the supervision order had been made because Linford had been doing so well while living at a hostel in Liverpool.

"Her supervising officer was surprised to hear of this latest breach because of the progress Rachel was making," said Mr King.

"It seems she is on the cusp of finally realising that she has to demonstrate some maturity and responsibility."
