A MINOR explosion occurred on a footpath in Lower Darwen yesterday.
Firefighters and police were called to Fore Street, just after 2.30pm after a loud bang was reported.
It is thought a build-up of gas or water reaching an electrical cable ripped open a small hole in the footpath. Nobody was hurt.
A spokesperson for Blackburn with Darwen Council said they were looking into the cause.
