A COUNSELLING and support charity has scooped £200,000 from the Big Lottery Fund.
Caring Today, a Brierfield-based charitable organisation, gained a share of the £1.8 million awarded to several projects in the North West in its Reaching Communities programme.
Volunteers provide a parent and counselling support group, which helps with appointments and translation, an after-school and homework club and exercise classes from Brierfield Community Centre.
The charity works to ensure disabled children have the same rights and activities as other children.
Volunteers can gain experience that can lead to paid work with other organisations.
