A man suffered bruising after being jostled by two would-be robbers as he left a newsagents.

The 41-year-old was coming out of the shop in Nuttall Street, Accrington, at 6.20pm on Sunday when he was approached by two teenagers.

One of the males tried to bang into his chest and steal his wallet but was unsuccessful and the pair then ran off.

Both of the teenagers were white and aged approximately 18.

One was skinny, with short, blond hair and wearing a white jumper.

The other had dark hair and was described as having a "beer belly."
