A man who struggled as police tried to arrest him had seen red after his girlfriend was pushed to the floor by an officer, a court was told.
Burnley Magistrates heard how Loran Britcliffe, 31, was aggressive, unco-operative and swore at police after officers went to investigate an assault at a Burnley bar.
He was not involved in the trouble but had been pointed out as one of the alleged offenders.
Britcliffe, of Oat Street, Padiham, admitted two counts of resisting police, last November. He was fined £100 with £65 costs.
Sentencing, the bench told the defendant they understood he would have felt aggrieved if his girlfriend was pushed but he had gone over the top.
Britcliffe had apologised to police afterwards.
