A MEMBER of staff at a Blackburn club was slapped then dragged over the bar by a customer.
Mark McArthur, 25, of Hastings Close, Blackburn, admitted assaulting Richard Young and was made subject to a 28-day curfew and ordered to pay £250 compensation and £50 costs.
Magistrates heard that Mr Young was working at Furthergate Working Men's club. About 10.30pm, McArthur came to the bar with a female and bought her a drink. She asked if he was getting one for himself and he said no.
Shortly after, he returned to the bar demanding to know where his drink was. He began shouting and slapped Mr Young across the face.
Mr Young explained and this time McArthur took him by the neck of his shirt and dragged him over the bar before slapping him again.
Michael Blacklidge, defending, said his client apologised for his behaviour.
"He has no record of violence and this was out of character," he said.
