A BARROWFORD woman is limbering up to run the London Marathon to raise cash for Pendleside Hospice.
Angela Shian, manager of the leisure club at the Oaks Hotel, Reedley, beat off stiff competition from dozens of other applicants to take the one space left available on the hospice's silver bond scheme.
She was chosen because of the level of fitness and previous fundraising work for the charity, and has already set herself a £1,000 sponsorship target.
Hospice fundraising manager Kaye Bartle said: "We are very grateful to her for all the effort she is putting in to training to complete the marathon and raise sponsorship."
