A TEENAGER was left with broken bones after he was attacked at a takeaway.

The 18-year-old was inside the Eastern Delight takeaway, in Burnley Road, Briercliffe, when he was approached by a gang of men.

Police said one of the group hit the victim in the face, causing the victim to suffer a broken nose, fractured eye socket and broken teeth.

He was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment.

Detectives have now released CCTV images of three men they would like to speak to in connection with the assault, which happened around 12.50am on December 13.

The first man was described as being in his 20s and of medium build with short black hair. He was wearing a black long-sleeved top and a pair of black trousers.

The second man is also thought to be in his 20s and of slim build. He was wearing a light-coloured jacket with black sleeves.

Officers are also looking to speak to a third man who was described as having short, black hair. He had a light-coloured jacket on.

Police are also appealing to any potential witnesses who might be able to help them with their investigation to come forward.

PC Laura Kendall, from Burnley Police, said: “We are keen to speak to the three men pictured as they may hold important information about what happened.

“If any of the men recognise themselves please get in touch and anyone with any information about the assault should contact us as soon as possible.”

Councillor Margaret Lishman, who represents the Briercliffe ward, said she was shocked to hear about the attack.

She said: “We have not had any trouble in this area for quite a long time. It is really upsetting to hear that this has happened.

“Any attack, whether it is provoked or not, is completely inappropriate.”

“If anybody has any information about this, I would encourage them to speak to the police. The more they can help them, the better.”
