VET charity PDSA is searching for brave pets from East Lancashire to enter its 2014 Pet Survivor Awards.
The charity wants to hear about plucky local pets that have overcome adversity and beaten the odds, thanks to the skill of vets, the love of their owners and of course their own amazing survival spirit.
MORE TOP STORIES:
The PDSA Pet Survivor Awards are open to any owner whose pet has been treated by a veterinary surgeon in the UK for a life-threatening illness or injury since October, 2013.
Last year’s Pet Survivor winner was Robbie, a six-month-old stray kitten who took shelter in an abandoned sofa.
But his actions nearly proved fatal when the sofa was somehow set alight and consumed by flames, with poor Robbie still inside. His injuries were so severe that a skin graft was needed.
But despite the pain and discomfort he pulled through.
Entries will be assessed by a panel of judges including PDSA vets, who are looking for the most outstanding stories of pet survival from the past 12 months.
The winner will take the title of PDSA Pet Survivor 2014 and receive a trophy.
To enter their pet survivor’s owners need to visit www.pdsa.org.uk/ petsurvivor.
The deadline for entries is Saturday, November 22.
