THE father of singing sensation Reece Bibby has thanked East Lancashire voters for supporting Stereo Kicks through to the next round of the X Factor.

It comes as outspoken columnist Katie Hopkins – known for making outrageous comment – was spoken to by relatives of the eight-member boyband after the show.

Katie appeared on ITV2’s The Xtra Factor, where she said she ‘can’t stand’ the group and that they looked like ‘teenage boys at an STI clinic’. Reece’s dad, Jamie Bibby, from Accrington, said rela-tives spoke to her after the programme fin-ished.

He said: “Katie said some awful things. She was talking about something which at their age, they would not be doing.

“What she said was really, really thought-less and acted as if all young boys did those things. “The parents went to speak to her and they all said her comments were un-called for.”

Jamie said all in all, the weekend had been ‘amazing’, with Stereo Kicks storming through to Hallowe’en weekend following their Beatle mash-up of hit songs Hey Jude and Let it Be.

He said: “It just goes to show that even though the boys have only been together two months, they can get a brilliant reaction.

“Hopefully they can keep getting better and better.

“Reece is doing so well and we are so proud of him. He has worked very hard.

“It is brilliant seeing him on the stage and growing in confidence.

“The support from East Lancashire has been brilliant.”
