Memorial Park in Great Harwood is celebrating after winning a £50,000 lottery grant.
The cash, from the Big Lottery Fund "Parks for People" scheme will mean that restoration plans can be drawn up.
Ian Wilkinson, of the Friends of Memorial Park said: "This is great news, our community values the park as part of our heritage.
"There's more hard work ahead but we're looking forward to the challenge of working with the council, local residents and park users to get a master plan together."
Park users and residents will now be asked about what improvements they would like to see.
