AN inquest has been opened into the death of learner stock car driver Samuel John Lund, who died after his car hit a tree.
Samuel, 19, who lived and worked on the family farm in Bentley Road, Gisburn, suffered a head injury and a post-mortem examination showed the cause of death as traumatic brain injury.
Passenger, Samuel's cousin, James Dewhurst, 16, died at the scene. Full hearings into both deaths have been set for May 14.
