IAN Greenwood and Catherine Labrianidis led the way for Rossendale Triathlon Club at the Keswick Mountain Festival Triathlon.

Labrianidis was the third female home and winner of the V40 category in a time of one hour and 12 minutes.

That was seven minutes behind Greenwood, the second-fastest V50 in 1hour 5mins. His time would have been even quicker had he not received an accidental blow to the head from a fellow competitor during the 400m open water swim in Derwent Water.

Six more Rossendale members also finished with Diane Flemming second in the V50 female category in a time of 1hour 23mins. Other Rossendale members racing were Toby Hamer, John Hanson, Vanessa Hamlet, Matt Cutforth and Graeme Courtney.

There was also a longer distance triathlon, comprising a 1,500m swim, 400km bike and 10km run, with Daniel Hatton producing a great effort to finish in just under four hours.

Charlotte Hartley, meanwhile, represented Rossendale at the St Annes Triathlon and posted an excellent time of 1hour 15mins to finish sixth in her age category and seventh female overall.
