AN alleged bigamist from Burnley has also been accused of taking part in a sham marriage six months earlier.
Emma-Louise Evans is said to have taken part in a ‘marriage of convenience’ with Kazeem Kolade at Blackburn on July 2, 2012.
The 33-year-old is alleged to have undertaken the wedding ceremony to assist with the commission of a ‘breach in immigration law’, by allowing Kolade to remain in this country by deception.
Evans, of Hufling Lane, Burnley, is then accused of taking part in a bigamous marriage to Stephen Akinseye, in her home town, on January 8, 2013.
She did not enter a plea to either charge when she appeared before Burnley magistrates.
The magistrates decided that the case should be heard before a crown court judge and she was sent for trial on unconditional bail until June 2.
Evans has worked as part-time babysitter and is a former student of Fearns Community College at Stacksteads and Accrington and Rossendale College.
