THE Lib Dems have announced that former Burnley councillor Darren Reynolds will be their candidate in the by-election in the Blacko and Higherford ward.

Darren, 43, runs a small business in Burnley and lives in Blacko with his wife Cheryl and baby son.

He said: “I look forward to the chance to serve local people on Pendle Council.

“I shall be campaigning on a number of local issues including traffic dangers on Gisburn Road and other places in the ward, and the lack of adequate broadband in some parts of the area.”

The by-election, which takes place on April 3, was caused by the disqualification of the sitting Conservative councillor for not attending any meetings for over six months.
