THE family of an 81-year-old hit and run victim have made an emotional plea to the driver to come forward.

Stanislava Wislocki was knocked down and critically injured as she was crossing Preston New Road, Blackburn, at about 6am on Friday December 29.

The car involved, believed to be a dark coloured Honda Civic, drove off without stopping.

Stanislava, of was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital with serious head injuries after being knocked down as she left her husband's car to get a paper from the local shop.

Relatives have described Stanislava, from the Livesey Branch Road area, as devoted to her family and said she would do anything for anybody.

A close relative said: "Stanislava spent her life looking after her family and had a love of animals.

"She is a loving wife and mother and we are devastated by what has happened.

"I hope that the person responsible will think about what they have done find it in their heart to own up and come forward to the police."
