ALMOST £2,000 was donated to Lancashire hospices by Ramsbottom Rotary Club.
Club president Eric Walmsley handed over cheques for £600 each to Rossendale Hospice, Derian House Children's Hospice, and Bury Hospice.
The money was raised from the Rotary Club's fundraising events includi-ng a kick boxing evening at Woodhey High School, Ramsbottom, where £4,600 was raised by nearly 400 guests. Mr Walmsley thank-ed Rotarian Frank Unswor-th who dedicated himself to ensuring the success of the event, and to Darren Philips of GFC Muay Thai club for promoting it.
He said: "Ramsbottom Rotary is going from strength to strength thanks to its dedicated members, but without the kindness and generosity of the local people there would be no point."
