ENTERTAINMENT store chain Music Zone, which has branches in Accrington and Burnley, has gone into administration.

The firm is looking for new owners and is blaming "challenging trading conditions" and weak pre-Christmas spending.

Administrators Deloitte said it would attempt to sell Music Zone, which has 104 stores across the country selling low price music, DVDs and books, as a going concern.

A spokesman said there would be "no immediate redundancies" among the 1,100 staff and added that the shops would stay open.

Music Zone said: "There is a growing number of high street retailers like Music Zone experiencing challenging trading conditions.

"Pre-Christmas spending was poorer than expected."
