SOAP star Vicky Entwistle has shown she has real street appeal as her new fitness DVD topped the charts over Christmas.
Clitheroe-based actress Vicky, who plays Coronation Street's Janice Battersby, has become an unlikely fitness guru, pipping Brookside babe Jennifer Ellison and health expert Mr Motivator to the top spot in Tesco's DVD sales chart.
The Vicky Entwistle WOW! Weight Off Workout DVD has even outsold Big Brother star Jade Goody's Jade's Shape Challenge by three to one.
The success of the former pupil at Rhyddings High School, Oswaldtwistle, is being put down to her impressive public bid to get in shape.
Tesco spokesman Gemma Kirkham said: "British dieters are going crazy for Vicky's fitness DVD.
"She appeals to ordinary people because of her fantastic weight loss recently.
"Because of her down-to-earth gritty role in Coronation Street she's far more believable than skinny model types who used to bring out fitness DVDs.
