THE funeral of a non-league football stalwart will take place today. Colin Wilson, who died recently, aged 72, after being admitted to hospital with a chest infection, was secretary at Clitheroe FC for decades. And the painter and decorator who had an ‘encyclopedic knowledge’ of non-league football, will be remembered at a service at Trinity Methodist Church in Wesleyan Row, Parson Lane, Clitheroe, from 1.30pm. Clitheroe FC held a minute’s silence ahead of its defeat to Ossett Albion at Plainmoor on Saturday, and a further tribute is planned for the team’s match against Ramsbottom United on January 25.
