A LIFELONG Darrener has slammed the borough council after a pond that was cleaned up had leaves blown into it by workmen.
The Friends of Sunnyhurst Wood, using cash granted by the town council and some from their own funds, paid to have silt removed from the paddling pool in the wood and taken off the site.
But Dave Horsfield, of Grafton Court, told Darwen town councillors at their meeting this week that Blackburn with Darwen Council workmen had gone into the wood with blowers and blown leaves back into the water.
He said: “This council has spent a lot of money clearing leaves and silt from the paddling pool in Sunnyhurst Wood.
“Will they talk to the borough council about this issue?”
Town council mayor Eileen Entwistle said it would be looked into.
