BUSINESSES have been warned to be vigilant after break-ins at two industrial parks in Burnley.

Thieves used a hacksaw to cut through a gate at Flogas Burnley in Widow Hill Road, Heasandford Industrial Estate, and stole 23 bottles of propane gas. And a raid on another firm in Farrington Place, Rossendale Road Industrial Estate, saw a large amount of copper stolen.

The theft at Flogas took place between 3.30pm and 4.30pm on November 24.

Lancashire police said three thieves were caught on CCTV loading the propane canisters into a light-coloured Ford SWB Transit van with a sliding door.

One of the culprits was described as white, of average height and broad build with a light-coloured jumper, dark trousers and a wooly hat. During the raid at Farrington Place, a rear fire door was forced opne between at around 2am on November 21.

Those responsible removed a fuse box from the building, disabling the alarm, and also stole the unit’s CCTV equipment.
