MOTORISTS are facing chaos on East Lancashire’s roads this morning.
Traffic is backed up to junction four on the M65, heading towards Preston, due to an incident on the southbound M6 last night in which a man was killed as he crossed the carriageway near Chorley.
The M6 was closed in both directions from around 10pm last night for an accident investigation and partially re-opened at around 8am.
There is also heavy traffic from junction two northbound on the M61 as vehicles join the tailbacks.
In a separate incident, one lane is closed on the A56 at Rising Bridge due to a collision on the roundabout near McDonalds.
There is queuing traffic on the M56 Edenfield bypass southbound between Blackburn Road and the M60 because of delays on the M62 and the M60.
Traffic is also slow on the A680 Whalley Road both ways in Clayton-le-Moors.
