POLICE are appealing for information after high value Asian gold jewellery was stolen from a house in Burnley on Tuesday 22nd October.

The burglary took place sometime between 7.50pm and 8.30pm at a mid-terraced house on Clive Street when someone has gained access by forcing a rear kitchen door before searching the house and escaping with a significant amount of Asian gold jewellery.

PC Ryan Waddington said: “This burglary has taken place in a predominantly Bengali population and I would urge anybody within the community who saw or heard anything suspicious on Tuesday night to contact police.

“Sadly there have been similar offences committed in the area which is obviously of some concern to the local community and I would urge people to be vigilant and to report anybody they suspect to be involved to the police."

The jewellery included earrings containing black stones, bangles, a locket, children’s rings and a necklace with the name ‘Alisha’ written on it.

Anyone with any information about this incident or the whereabouts of the jewellery should contact Lancashire Police on 101.

People with information can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
