PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson has welcomed a drop in recorded crime in Lancashire.

Latest figures from the independent Office for National Statistics show that over the last three years recorded crime in Lancashire has fallen by 11 per cent.

Mr Stephenson said the fall was ‘great news’.

“It is great news that crime continues to fall in Lancashire,” he said.

“Hardworking local police officers in Lancashire can be rightly proud of their success in cutting crime.

“The Government is reforming the police and cutting the red tape so that officers can concentrate on cutting crime to make our communities safer.”
