A PENDLE aerospace firm has signed a major deal to repair jet engines for an American giant.

Euravia Engineering, based on Colne Road, Kelbrook will work with Greenwich AeroGroup, from Wichita, to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for Pratt & Whitney’s PT6A and PT6T engines on fixed and rotor wing aircraft in the United States.

The firm, which won a Queen’s Award for International Trade in 2010, has a mobile repair team who work in America, and engines can also be brought to UK.

Staff from Euravia have visited more than 50 countries on various projects, a spokesman said.

Among aircraft Euravia repairs are Beechcraft King Air and 1900, Cessna Caravan and Conquest, Piaggio Avanti, Pilatus PC-6, PC-7, PC-9 and PC-12, Piper Meridian and Cheyenne, Quest Kodiak, Socata TBM and other fixed wing aircraft.

Euravia was founded in 1988 after Sudanese-born Mr Mendoros set up in East Lancashire.

The company has grown to a £10m turnover, specialising in repairing and overhauling US-made Pratt & Whitney jet engines.

Greenwich AeroGroup was founded by Berkley Capital in 2007 and has a family of firms including Atlantic Aero, Western Aircraft, Summit Aviation and Banner Aerospace.
