The So & So's are an Indianapolis indie-pop band who apparently make chamber pop' - whatever that is.
With eight members the sound is unreserved and free, rather than the introspection that can come from leftfield indie types.
Every member gets a turn in the limelight, and the 12 tracks manage to cover a range of sounds, while staying as tight as you could expect from a band all living together in some sort of left-wing musical commune.
The lyrics encompass romance, drugs, cat noises and more - and from the upbeat to the melancholy songs there is a gentle, wistful tone.
The result sounds like a less annoying Ben Folds Five, or even fellow instrument-enthusiasts The Decemberists.
Heartrending and joyous.
