It's never exactly been cool to admit a fondness for Crowded House, but 10 years since their split is their music worth a re-evaluation?

This release is the first time that their 1996 farewell gig for 120,000 fans outside Sydney Opera House has been available on CD, and it really is true that you forget just how many of their songs you know.

Some songs have weathered better than others - It's Only Natural and Fall At Your Feet still get you humming along like it was the early 90s, whilst Weather With You still sounds like the bad old pop hit that it was.

The biggest surprises are songs like album-only track Private Universe, which is more brooding and more imaginative than the Crowded House hits.

Their live performance is much better than the album recordings, and anyone who remembers (and likes) Crowded House would do well to buy this and replace their old stretched cassettes.
