A PRIMARY school has improved from ‘satisfactory’ to ‘good with outstanding leadership and management’ since its last Ofsted inspection.
St Saviour’s Community Primary School, in Bacup, was taken over by Michelle Dodgson in 2011 and since then, the teaching staff has completely changed with three new teachers, and deputy head Tony Lloyd joining the team.
Lead Ofsted inspector David Byrne said in a report: “Teaching and learning are good, with outstanding elements. Across the school teachers have high expectations, and deliver lessons that are interesting and help pupils to improve.
“In lessons, and around the school, they concentrate well and thrive when working collaboratively.”
Ms Dodgson said: “I am absolutely delighted with the report and would like to thank children, staff and governors.
“I am convinced that it is our team approach that makes us the school we are. Pupils love school now.”
