POLITICAL chiefs at Lancashire county council were locked in talks last night about who runs the county council.
Labour leader Jenny Mein said, whose party fell four seats short of overall control, confirmed a meeting had taken place with the Liberal Democrats who won six.
She said: “We set out our position; they set out theirs; and we both went away. We have not talked to the Conservatives but have chatted with the Independents. We don’t have to decide until May 23. It more important to get it right than do it quickly.”
