A WOMAN from Nelson has been prosecuted for allowing her dog to foul in public.
Maria Golding, 66, of Lansbury Place, Nelson appeared at Reedley Magistrates’ Court.
She has been ordered to pay a total of £120 for the offence which happened on November 13. A Pendle Council environmental crime officer witnessed Mrs Golding walking her dog on Pinder Street, Nelson.
He saw Mrs Golding fail to pick up her dog’s waste despite getting some bags out of her pocket.
When approached, she said that she was on her way home to get a dog waste bag.
The officer told her that he’d seen that she already had bags with her and took Mrs Golding’s details to later issue her with a fixed penalty for a fine of £75.
Mrs Golding did not pay the fine and was subsequently taken to court.
Magistrates found Mrs Golding guilty of the dog fouling incident and fined her £100 and ordered her to pay a £15 victim surcharge and prosecution costs of £65.
