THREE groups are set to benefit when the Mayor of Pendle hosts his annual bit of a do' next month.

The event, for older and disabled residents, will take place from December 4 to 8, every day from 11.30am until 4pm, at Colne Muni.

Transport will be provided to and from the event on selected days, but places are limited and people are requested to book their seats as soon as possible.

Guests will enjoy a pre-lunch drink and seasonal turkey roast (or suitable alternative), followed by an afternoon of music and laughter.

This year's entertainment promises to be a trip down memory lane with A Musical Review Extravaganza' - complete with a professional cast.

Produced by locally esteemed George Critchley, famed for his pantomime productions, and compered by funnyman Tim Pope, the review is a chance for the audience to re-live the music from the forties through to the seventies.

Coun George Adam, Mayor of Pendle, said: "It is a pleasure to host the annual bit of a do'.

"Not only is it great fun but all the money raised will go to the Mayoress' Charity Appeal Fund which this year will be donated to Pendle View School, Nelson, the three local Royal British Legion Welfare Sections and Intergrationalle - a little-known charity helping disabled adults to master computer skills."

Tickets are £7. Call 01282 661103, 10am-noon and 1pm-4pm.
