This Merseyside band has managed to make some crazy, beautiful music that's almost as smart as their clever-clever name.

World of Fashion gathers wailed, strained male vocals around a repeated guitar riff to form a rolling, heaving, psychedelic clump of almost-mainstream musical brilliance.

Their peculiarity stands out more on the slightly disappointing Oblong, which takes the art of downbeat and mutterings to a new slow, then adds some almost unlistenable distortion for bad luck.

The Seal Cub Clubbing Club seem patchy from this release, but I'd still bet on great things to come...
