A CHIPPING hotel is looking for planning permission to create an extension.

Bosses at the Talbot Hotel, in Talbot Street, want to create nine ensuite bedrooms, a function suite, bistro restaurant, bar area, kitchen and staff facilities.

They also want to change an existing barn into 11 ensuite bedrooms and create 46 car parking spaces.

Chipping Parish Council has welcomed the prospect of regeneration and restoration of the building, although a concern was raised over the amount of parking.

The plans were recommended for refusal by the Environment Agency who were worried about the impact on the biodiversity and wildlife of the watercourse.

Proposals for the work have been submitted to planning officers at Ribble Valley Council where 10 letters of objection have been handed in.

The application has been recommended for approval.
