AN appeal for information has been made after a man indecently exposed himself to a woman in Accrington.
The 33-year-old woman was walking along the rear alleyways of Exchange Street, and Elizabeth Street, at the junction of Pickup Street, at around 6.20pm on January 4, when she came across the man who was acting indecently.
Despite the man being aware of the woman’s presence, he failed to stop until she pulled out her mobile phone, at which point he ran off.
The man is described as white, in his early 20s, and slim. He was wearing a dark tracksuit top and bottoms, with the hood up.
PC Neil Pugh said: “This was a very distressing incident for the woman, and I would appeal to anyone who has any information about it to contact police.
“We believe there were other people in the area at the time who may have seen this man. Please come forward if you think you can assist us.”
Anybody with any information should contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, or online at crimestoppers-uk.org
