COMMUNITY-spirited staff and customers at a housing company are bringing festive joy to those in East Lancashire most in need.
Members of Calico’s floating support step-up committee have been collecting items for special food hampers, donated by staff, which will be delivered to customers who need that extra bit of help over the festive period.
The committee raised over £250 via a sponsored walk up Pendle Hill earlier this year.
The money will be used to pay for the hampers plus toys and gifts for customers and their families.
Caroline Lamprey, Calico’s customer involvement officer, said: “We know Christmas can be a very difficult time for many people.
“We want to give those who need help one less thing to worry about and to give them things that many of us take for granted.” The floating support is a service available to people across East Lancashire who need help securing or sustaining a tenancy or who may be facing problems in keeping their owned property.
The committee consists of dedicated customers who work together to help make improvements to the service.
