STAFF, patients and visitors at the Royal Blackburn Hospital will be singing from the same hymn sheet tomorrow evening.

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the many community locations taking part in BBC Radio Lancashire’s ‘Lancashire Sings Christmas’ which takes place from 7pm to 8pm inside the main entrance at the hospital in Haslingden Road.

Other locations include pubs, libraries, parks and even a funeral home.

Festivities kick off at the hospital at 6.30pm before joining with the live broadcast at 7pm.

The hospital radio team will also be there broadcasting from the event for those patients on wards who are unable to attend.

Trust chaplain Rev Andrew Horsfall said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone involved with the hospital – patients, visitors and staff to come together.

“The hospital here is both a community facility for the whole of East Lancashire and in a very real sense a close-knit community in its own right, both with the many people who work here and also those who make up its life as patients and visitors at a particular time.”
