TEENAGE darts sensation Daniel Scott is taking the Blackburn scene by storm and is on the look out for new sponsors.

The Mill Hill maestro, who recently qualified for this season's Blackburn Premier League at the third attempt, is also a key member of the Lancashire Youth set-up.

He won his match 2-1 with a 60-plus average in last weekend's 9-6 victory over Clwyd of Walesa and is keen to one day step up to the county's senior ranks.

"I just love playing darts," said Daniel. "I have played for about four or five years, but in my last year, things have really been excellent and very exciting for me.

"I qualified for the British Teenage Open, I signed up for the Florence Hotel to play in the Thwaites A League and have been playing for Blackburn in the Super League for about two years.

"I'm finally signed up for Lancashire and have been representing the county again for about two seasons.

"I used to play for the Stakes Hall Hotel under the watchful eye of landlord Tony Lockley.

"Tony sadly passed away two years later and when his wife Janet decided to move out of the pub, I too felt it was time for a change of scene.

"Whilst I was at Stakes Hall however, I did achieve a maximum 170 check-out in a league match, which I dedicated to Tony.

"Florence landlord Arnie Mayor has recently started sponsoring both myself and Darren Place, so we decided it would be a fitting gesture to play darts for him.

"I would be most grateful if some more sponsors came in to help finance the bigger competitions, such as the Isle of Man Festival.

"If any local businesses or business people would like to make an offer, please don't hesitate to get in touch on 01254 691938."

Daniel was a beaten finalist in the opening two qualifying events for this season's Blackburn Premier League, losing out to Mick Ansbro and Graham Willets, but he recently booked his place amongst the town's "great eight" with a 5-3 win over Phil Barber.

Representing the Mill Hill Hotel, he will now come up against the likes of brothers Dave and Darren Place - last season's finalists - when the league kicks off in the forthcoming weeks. And young Daniel can't wait as long as he doesn't come last!

"The best things about darts for me are defeating more experienced opponents and the atmosphere of competition, especially when I'm with Darren."
