A CLAYTON-le-Moors man who went to see his two-year-old child on the day he was released from prison ended up back in custody.

Blackburn magistrates heard that Colin Ellison, 22, had a row with the child's mother which ended in "pushing and shoving."

And the altercation lead to him being recalled on his prison licence resulting in him serving a further seven months in custody.

Ellison and his sister Cherrie Ellison, 24, both of Lower Barnes Street, pleaded guilty to assaulting Julia Lord.

They were each given a conditional discharge for 12 months and Cherrie Ellison was ordered to pay £50 compensation and £55 costs.

Charlotte Crane, prosecuting, said Ellison's relationship with Miss Lord had come to an end when he was sent to prison in March.

On the day he was released he went to Miss Lord's home and there was an argument about contact arrangements.
