A CHARITY evening held as a thank-you to hospital staff for treating a Darwen brain tumour patient raised thousands of pounds.
Lindsay Walton, 24, of Rudyard Drive, Darwen, underwent surgery at the Royal Preston Hospital to remove a large vascular brain tumour.
Lindsay was given the all-clear by doctors last year and now has a normal life ahead of her.
The event, the family's second annual fundraiser, held in Highfield Working Men's Club on October 28, was in aid of the neurological unit at the hospital.
They raised £2,236 on the night.
