STAFF from Nelson communications firm Daisy, including CEO and Apprentice star Matthew Riley, had a fan-tashe-tic Movember as they raised more than £17,000.
The hairy heroes were among East Lancashire’s top fundraisers for the annual campaign, which raises cash for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer.
Captained by Matthew Riley, a team of 32 employees from the firm, based at the Lindred Road Business Park, took part.
Matthew said: “On behalf of the team I would like to thank all those who donated to team Daisy Mo. The response has been truly amazing.
“The team has done a great job at shunning the razors and it has definitely not gone unnoticed. We have looked ‘interesting’, and in some cases a bit ridiculous, but we have raised a fantastic amount of money for charity.”
Matthew helped up the team’s donations by pledging to match every pound that he raised, doubling his total of £6,546.
His funds also made a leap at the end of month when he and his Basil Fawlty-style moustache headed to the City to present the Daisy Group’s half year results.
The team originally set its target at £5,000 through unique donations, and has been monitoring the donations on its Tash-o-Meter based at the company’s headquarters.
