EDENFIELD will hold its own Remembrance service for the first time on Saturday.

Ward councillor Darryl Smith said: "We had wanted to hold it last year but the village's new memorial garden wasn't ready.

"This year we're able to have a service for our villagers."

Wreaths will be laid at the memorial stone - including from Edenfield Village Residents' Association acting chairman, and retired RAF commander, John Ayres.

The service will begin at 11am at the Market Street garden, followed by refreshments in the Community Centre off Exchange Street.
