A DEALER who was jailed after a neighbour filmed him sellings drugs has been evicted from his home.

Karl Bates, 35, was convicted of supplying drugs and possessing a stun gun and two gas canisters and was jailed for two years eight months after a court hearing last month.

Now his landlord, Hyndburn Homes, has successfully won a possession order to evict him from a terraced house in Norfolk Grove, Church.

David Perry, who manages the anti-social behaviour team for the landlord, said: "As soon as it became apparent that Mr Bates was breaching his tenancy agreement we served notice on him and subsequently applied to court for a possession hearing.

"This action has been a direct result of working closely with the police and other agencies to gather the evidence required to secure the eviction.

"Hyndburn Homes is committed to tackling anti social behaviour in all forms and other tenants and residents will face action if they continue to cause nuisance."

Adam Edwards, his neighbour, was instrum-ental in securing Bates' conviction by filming his drug deals and handing the film footage over to police.

Mr Edwards is a full-time carer for his disabled wife, Leone, 27, and their two children Josh, three, and Rachel, one, and was at the end of his tether over the situation.

The incriminating DVD that he produced, filmed via a wireless CCTV camera, showed 24 people visiting Bates' home over a four-hour period and they can be seen exchanging money and drugs.

He said: "I am really pleased that some action has been taken but also annoyed that we had to go to such great lengths to get Hyndburn Homes to take any action.

"I have been asking for years for something to be done about Karl and finally it has happened.

"The area is certainly quieter since he has been jailed."

Bates was convicted after police raided his home and uncovered 38.5g of amphetamine, 13.5g of cannabis resin, 56g of cannabis bush.

They also found about £10,000 cash hidden at locations around the house.

Small sealed bags, some weighing scales, a machine used for cannabis grinding and a list of names with amounts next to them were found in the kitchen of the house.
