A DRINK-DRIVER landed in hot water after crashing his car.
Blackburn magistrates heard Ben Henshall, 22, was arrested shortly after the incident when police found him in a hot tub with his girlfriend.
Henshall, of Harmire Road, Barnard Castle, County Durham, pleaded guilty to driving while unfit through drink and failing to stop after an accident.
He was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £600 with £100 costs.
John Wood, prosecuting, said a witness had parked his motorbike in Mill Lane, Gisburn, when he saw a car turn in off the A59.
The car, driven by Henshall, hit a metal post close to where the witness was standing before colliding head on with a wall and flipping onto its roof.
He saw two young men get out of the car and leave the scene.
“The males had gone in the direction of Ribblesdale Caravan Park and police found Henshall in a hot tub with his girlfriend at the rear of a caravan,” said Mr Wood.
“He was described as very drunk.”
Angela Rossi, defending, said Henshall panicked after the collision and fled from the scene.
