A HASLINGDEN firm is in good health again after being bought out of administration.

Envair Ltd, a specialist health firm based in York Street, went into receivership with the loss of 27 jobs in August.

But it has emerged that the firm has been bought out of administration and 26 of the staff have been given their jobs back.

The reprieve came when competitor Southampton-based clean-air engineering company Bassaire bought Envair, which produces specialist cleaning products for laboratories in the health and pharmaceutical industries.

Bassaire director Neil Thomas said: "Envair was our main rival so when it went into administration we almost immediately made moves to buy it.

"Bassaire is the longest established cleanroom company in the UK.

"Now that we have Envair, we can combine our resources and knowledge to be the strongest provider in the country, offering the biggest range of services in the cleaning industry."

"Little has actually changed for the staff. Envair is keeping its name and its productivity.

"We were pleased to be able to get the original staff back."

Managing director Gary Bagshaw, who has been with Envair for 11 years, said: "The buy-out was a surprise, but a good one.

"It was excellent news for the firm and workers."

Haslingden councillor and Rossendale Council Leader Duncan Ruddick said: "This is excellent.

"It's nice to hear positive news about employment in Haslingden when there has been so much negative.

"I'm absolutely delighted and I hope it's the first of many such cases for the town."
