ROSSENDALE’S Armed Forces Community Covenant has been praised by Lancashire County Council.
Veterans’ Champion, County Councillor Mike France, described the Valley’s covenant as ‘trailblazing’ and he said he would be watching its progress and seeing how the ideas can also be used in other areas.
The covenant was signed by a host of major organisations, including Rossendale Council, in July, and a pledge event was held at Alder Grange Sixth Form on Saturday.
Council leader Alyson Barnes said: “Rossendale is a fantastic place for this initiative. It is a green place, a peaceful place and a tranquil place and we have a strong community that is supportive of people and will help them get back on track.”
